Unlimited Mailbox Size “Your mailbox is over its size limit” Message
I have Exchange Enterprise 2003 running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server, with a front-end back-end configuration. I have one user who receives the Your mailbox is over its size limit The mailbox store is set to warn users at 100 MB, but this user is given unlimited mailbox size via AD User Properties, Exchange General tab, Storage Limits (all Storage limits boxes are unchecked). This user has about 450 MB in the mail box. I have another user with an unlimited mailbox size on the same mailbox store with about 950 MB that does not receive the message. Does any one have any ideas?

I would suggest opening the users account with either LDP or adsiedit and check the mDBOverHardQuotaLimti, mDBOverQuotaLimit, mDBStorageQuota and mDBUseDefaults values. Maybe the snap-in is not reading the properties correctly.

Could someone please explain how to do this "check the mDBOverHardQuotaLimti, mDBOverQuotaLimit, mDBStorageQuota and mDBUseDefaults values"?

I guess some where IS cache has not recognized this Mailbox limits. Those values need to be checked via installing Windows Support tools and then accessing ADSIEDIT and navigating to this user object. I would first give a try by moving this user to another store and then making him unlimited.Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

You've already stated that the values in those properties are setcorrectly (what you see in the user's properties for mailbox sizelimits in the ADUC come from those properties).Since the properties appear to be correct there are few things I canthink of to do:ain Controller, connect ADUC to eachof the and examine the mailbox limits. If they aren't all the same onevery DC then you have replication problem. That's not an Exchangeproblem, but it's one you need to fix.2. Move the mailbox to another database. That will force theInformation Store to reload its cache with the AD properties for thismailbox.3. If you have only one database, restart the Information Storeservice. That'll certainly refresh the IS cache. :-) ---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
